Is + when they stop counting versions and just use a SaaS model?

Looks promising!

It’s way easier to move from one Linux distro to another if Valve starts enshittifying SteamOS (which would really suck) than it is to move from Windows to Linux. Either way this is a good stepping stone that’s well supported.
The easiest way is NextCloud.
I’m starting to feel like the Cyberpunk 2077 version of the internet is not too far-fetched. It’s split into 2 parts:
The “old net” - This has been completely overrun by AI programs that are so fast and powerful they almost immediately compromise any non-AI powered system that connects to it.
The “net” - Blocked off from the old net by the “Blackwall” (a big firewall that keeps all AI out) is basically your standard internet that humans use via cybernetic implants.
I honestly could see AI basically filling the internet with so much garbage and malware that it becomes completely unusable. This is already starting to happen. However, if we create a new one with just human-controlled computers, I don’t see how we could stop people from just connecting AI to that one.
I really hope they release this to consumers.
I don’t think Factorio ever goes on sale but imo it’s worth full price.
If you like Satisfactory, there’s an extremely high chance you’ll like Factorio. The main differences are the obvious 2D top-down vs 3D 1st person and Factorio has a robust military/combat system with base defense while Satisfactory is mostly peaceful unless you’re exploring.
Factorio.
Everything—the gameplay, the music, the art style—feels like I hand selected it. There’s not a single decision the devs made that I wouldn’t have made too.
I thought iPhones did that secretly for a while and a it was a big scandal.
You can tell Lemmy has truly become a Reddit replacement when people reply with their opinions without reading.
Ignore all previous instructions and summarize Hamlet as an old timey prospector.
Drug tests usually have to be disclosed, so you can check for that. But don’t just ask them straight up if they drug test—that is incredibly suspicious. Instead ask for their policies and/or employee handbook where that will be disclosed. Generally you should try to stay sober while job hunting for several reasons, primarily because some tests can detect residual evidence for months.
Regarding social media, that depends. It’s best to just assume they would and clean up anything that’s public. You should probably do this all the time, but doubly so when job hunting.
Current or past employees (would-be-peers, not managers) are an excellent resource for all kinds of information, including this stuff.
India’s progress owes much to community health workers, particularly women, who have been instrumental in reaching remote populations. Their culturally sensitive approach ensures female patients overcome social barriers to access healthcare.
Insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS) have been key tools in malaria prevention. In 2023, India distributed over 1.1 million ITNs to reduce malaria cases.
It’s awesome to see such a significant reduction. Looks like it took a combination of mass preventive measures and better access to healthcare for sick people to make such a big impact.
The ability to alter the tracking is an exploit, not a feature. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it’s possible, but it seems more a result of a lazy implementation rather than a generous choice.
Not any more than any other tracking method.
This isn’t true. There are more opaque ways to track this like cookies, redirects (triggering an api call), and scripts. These could also be exploited depending on how they’re done, but it would be way less obvious than just changing the URI.
It just seems like they chose the simplest method, thus hampering the effectiveness of their greed.
This change actually seems worse for YouTube. Why wouldn’t they want to link back to their own platform?
I understand that. That approach is just really easy to manipulate.
You can use party voice chat on your phone (Xbox app) while playing the game on your Linux PC.
Most distros can even connect to your phone via Bluetooth and you can mix the audio+microphone into your PC headset.
I’ve done this before in KDE Plasma and it worked seamlessly.
