Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why would they even need a machine to count the prisoners? If they didn’t feed their victims and were planning to murder them anyways I’m having trouble understanding why they wouldn’t be okay with just a loose head count. Was it really just for counting?
I hope I’m not coming across as insensitive, I’ve just never heard about this and it sounds so ominous.
This just got posted on not-Lemmy, it’s also not the original article I read but mentions many of the same things: https://freespeechforpeople.org/computer-scientists-breaches-of-voting-system-software-warrant-recounts-to-ensure-election-verification/
Don’t you worry your pretty little head about it. If you’re not doing anything wrong then it won’t matter, right?
Lol.
They haven’t?
I have a TV from ~2010 that still gives me static when something isn’t connected.
Wait, is this test multiple choice? Because if so you also need D) all of the above.
One can only hope.

Yeah except we’re all going to pay.
This isn’t the article I read but was the first thing that came up when I Googled: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/wrong-claims-by-musk-us-election-got-2-billion-views-x-2024-report-says-2024-11-04/
If you search “cyber security expert 2024 election hacking” you’ll get links to some social media posts where experts are discussing what they think happened.
I know for a fact I read that some small counties had voting machines that we know can be hacked hooked up to Starlink, and it was hypothesized that if they did get hacked again an “if, then” code was used to fly under the radar and steal votes in a few key areas in swing states. I’ll continue looking when I get a chance.
This one mentions starlink but also calls it a leftist conspiracy theory, which I disagree with: https://www.newsweek.com/starlink-musk-trump-election-conspiracy-theory-spreads-online-1983444
One from last year: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/voting-experts-warn-of-serious-threats-for-2024-from-election-equipment-software-breaches
I found it easily by Googling his full name (Nicholas J. Fuentes) and “home” and I think also “Zillow?” But it seems like they have since unlisted his house. I knew Google already blurred it but he seems to be locking it down everywhere. I guess that’s to be expected but the info is definitely already out there.
Ahh yes I forgot, all robots are descended from the original automaton; Sir Weebilus Wobbilus of the Kewpie dynasty.
This is what happens when you systematically dismantle the public education system.
I read an article at some point in the last few days that said some were, for what it’s worth. I’ll try to look for it again.
Sure I guess but you can also just leave it at home.
Still not worth the risk to download it. Get a paper journal, they make ones that guide you through tracking all the necessary data.
The fast forward and rewind options on my car stereo are both touch only, and they rarely (if ever) work. I like everything else about my car, which thankfully didn’t do away with too many buttons and mostly uses the touchscreen for the backup camera and stereo. But those two functions specifically being part of the touchscreen makes no sense and drives me crazy.
I’m honestly not sure I want the majority of reddit users coming to lemmy. Especially as a woman. There’s just so much more nastiness on reddit. I get that sometimes the content on Lemmy slows down or gets stale, but that seems like a reasonable price to pay to avoid people with chronic interpersonal problems and no healthy emotional outlet. I think every exchange I’ve had on Lemmy has at least been respectful and I can’t recall ever feeling that way on reddit.
