I learned the other day that beehaw blocks lemmy.world due to the amount of bad faith actors in that instance and it got me curious so I decided to block it in my settings last night. It’s a bit of weird move for me personally as I’ve always been one to say that blocking should only be used as a last resort. But I wanted to make myself contribute to some of the smaller instances as I dislike how so much is centralized at LW.

Has anyone on here done something similar? I’m curious to hear other peoples thoughts on the matter.

Yeah, I’ve been browsing throughout the day and been liking it. You still get to see comments from users on that instance but it’s a lot less noise so far.

I’ve been considering it also lately. Either the instance grew or the userbase just changed somehow or maybe I only just noticed but LW just feels like it’s culture is way shittier recently.

So many new users default to it so it just attracts all those newcomers and trolls. It’s sad to do because there’s a lot of good people and discussions on the instance. But more and more I just feel like discussions are becoming more and more annoying and a waste of time because it just leads nowhere. I don’t mind the decrease in posts personally. I prefer quality over quantity personally.

A hundred percent so. Lots of people want Lemmy to grow but I think we’re already huge, so much so I feel the need to trim some of the fat.

made it to the final stages of a job search but lost to the other guy. still though. not a bad showing. I think I aced an assesment as I got a response that I will be in the pool quickly but not so quickly to be a completely automated thing.

Mine is going pretty good. After a month in my new position at work I’m finally getting the credentials/access I need to actually get started onboarding. You might say a month is a long time to be doing nothing and getting paid for it, but I’ve been having a blast.

I don’t know, weird probably. I decided to pick up workout from home and well, muscles hurt like hell.

Got lots and lots of games, books and shows to watch but - I can’t be bothered to do any of it. Zero urge to do so. Which is immensely weird because, I have the free time of my life at the moment.

This week is dragging for me. Not many appointments, which usually takes up most of my work day, which I think is why it’s going slowly. It feels like it should be Friday already.
