  • Lol I’m in one of those screenshots. I’m flattered a mod from another instance felt they had to report me, but tbh I’m not at all surprised it was a former mod from r/startrek. Those subreddit mods were always a bit baggy, which is why I avoided that subreddit for a majority of the 15 years I was there. D-bag central.

First place I check is BTs profile to see if he’s cooled off at all. No.

I take back what I said. He’s an insufferable duck.

We explicitly decided to not call out Risa by name or USS Burrito Truck.

I noticed that, and I think it was a smart, classy idea. Well, I guess they’re not the reciprocating kind, so fuck’em. I’m sorry they keep harassing you, the amount of energy they’re expending on you is ridiculous.

  • I think you should spend more time using AI programming tools. That would let you see how primitive they really are in their current state and learn how to leverage them for yourself.

I agree, sosodev. I think it would be wise to at least be aware of modern A.I.'s current capabilities and inadequacies, because honestly, you gotta know what you’re dealing with.

If you ignore and avoid A.I. outright, every new iteration will come as a complete surprise, leaving you demoralized and feeling like shit. More importantly, there will be less time for you to adapt because you’ve been ignoring it when you could’ve been observing and planning. A.I. currently does not have that advantage, OP. You do.

  • Related JAQing off opinion piece in The Guardian posted today: “Where are all the films about ‘whiteness’?” .

For those unfamiliar with the acronym, JAQ = “Just asking questions,” a bad faith tactic pushing an absurd narrative (e.g. “movies for white people are disappearing”) by pretending to ask innocent questions.

    Direct quote, emphasis mine:

That’s why the final step towards true racial equality on screen is for whiteness to be cinematically named, described and dethroned from its “just human” position of cultural power. It’s time for white people to develop a cinema culture all of their own.

It’s riddled with white power talking points like this. This shit is really fucked up. It is irresponsible for a well-known major news source to publish shit like this, even with the “opinion” label attached. It’s basically right wing extremist (aka Nazi) recruitment propaganda.
