  • @neatchee has explained the issue. Every community has certain rules, and if you break them they will remove your post (or ban you), and if you re-post that again, that just makes you look like a troll / troublemaker. And “everyone is doing it” doesn’t make a good defense.

Now, if your main concern is how to get sound effects for your video, you can just link to the video and ask simple questions, like:

    • Where can I get these sound effects from?
    • Are they available from any stock sounds site?
    • What is the name of these sound effects, so that I can search them/buy them.
    • Are these sound effects available for free?
    • Is there any place to get free-to-use stock sounds?

  • Yeah, for instance, when I start a new day, I do the following:

    • Look at the monthly page, for any event (usually any anniversary or due date),
    • Look at the master tasks list. It’s the list where I move the tasks that I have to do “some-day” but not any specific day, I don’t directly add items to it, they are migrated from daily log. If there’s anything I want to (or can) do today, copy that.
    • Look at previous day, and copy or migrate any left-over items.

On normal day, this hardly takes 30 seconds (other than writing down what’s moving to today). With this workflow, it’s easy to mark anything on monthly calendar. As I am looking at it daily anyway. That being said, I am not actually using any habit tracker right now. I have become a perfect being and don’t need to create any more habits. 😃

  • Yeah, there was a video by someone, who has apparently made some documentaries, that gave bullet journal a try for 30 days. He over-complicated it by not following the basics but going for stylish spreads he watched on YouTube, and this exhausted him, instead of making things easier. For instance, it took him 4 hours to set up first month, and then 2 hours to set up seconds one. He eventually realised this is too much, and gave up.

And yeah, I love how simple it is. It doesn’t matter if you miss a day, a week, or a month, just turn to next empty page, and start writing.

  • I agree with Ricardo, on both points, but if it works for you, it doesn’t matter what you call it.

As for digital vs analogue, it doesn’t matter too much. I think bullet journal works better with pen and paper, but I know people who use digital ones, and it works for them, so more power to them.

You can check the official How to Bullet Journal video (also linked in side-bar), to get the idea of basics of Bullet Journal. You don’t have to do everything. Personally, I consider daily log to be the central pillar of bullet journal, around which the whole system is built, but others may have a different opinion about this.

  • Well, no system, no matter how nice, is perfect. And everyone is different with different needs. Not looking for more, just something that matches my needs more closely.

I originally started with just using dailies. No index, no future log, no monthly page. I slowly added them over the time. But the way my life and work is, I don’t really have any need for future log, I pretty much only add birthdays, anniversaries and bill due dates on my monthly page. So I stopped using future log.

I came across Calendex a while back, it’s like a monthly page, but covers the whole year (or half year, if smaller notebook). So it can help me remove my monthly pages and just make one page for multiple months. Since my usage is much less than official Calendex needs, I am going to modify it a bit for me. I haven’t used it before because the notebook I am using has pre-made monthly pages, and I wanted to keep using those. Now that the notebook is almost finished, switching to an empty / blank one. So, thinking about giving Calendax a try.

Now, if Calendex is so nice, why shouldn’t everyone use it? Well, like everything, it has it’s drawbacks. It adds complications, and if you aren’t used to journaling, can start to feel like a chore. So, better to get used to using your journal regularly, and then modify it if it doesn’t meet your needs completely.

  • I have been using it for a few years. My journal has evolved many times, somethings I tried worked great, something didn’t. For instance, I haven’t been using future log for quite a while, but have been thinking about using Calendex, with some changes, now.

As I mentioned, the system is very extensible, you can modify it as per your needs, and there are many resources out there, with people sharing there own spreads. So, basically just start with the basics, and if you feel need for more (or less, or something different), just change or add those things.
