So watery. 🤤 And yet there’s a smack of ham to it!

Honestly, it sucks, but nowadays, $400 isn’t overly high for condo HOAs. At least not in my region of the state. For stand alone, detached homes, it’s insane. But fees are crazy high nowadays for everyone. That price for a condo HOA is not outrageous unfortunately.
I live in a hot, humid environment. Keeping bread in the fridge helps it to stay good for multiple weeks. If I leave it out, it molds way quicker. I also sometimes will store bread in the freezer to keep it fresh even longer if I know I’m just going to make toast out of it.
Generally I do agree with that statement. But I think this can be taken in a lighthearted manner. Not every joke needs to be so PC to the point where you’re afraid to say anything and all humor is lost. Humor is subjective tho so I think it’s fair to not like the joke.
It is incredibly odd…isn’t it? So many words saying very little.
To OP, I think it would help others to give you advice if you say exactly what sort of plans you had that didn’t work out. Plans not working out come in all shapes and sizes, and advice for one thing doesn’t necessarily apply to another.
If it’s a relationship you seem to desire, then asking for more relationship focused advice may be more fruitful than vaguebooking and not getting much in the way of useful responses.
I mean…yes and no. A down payment for a single family home in today’s market is many orders of magnitude more expensive than $20k. But I agree that weddings are too expensive. Just have a small party and use that money elsewhere.
Welcome to Lemmy! I think the downvoted are more because there are conversation focused communities as opposed to this one, but you’ll find your footing!
Xylene. I think it’s maybe used as a paint thinner in some cases? I work in a lab where it is used daily in fairly large quantities (although not for thinning paint). I love it. Highly toxic tho lol.
Ick! Glad you like it because I don’t! I work adjacent to a microbiology lab and I hate when the smells end up wafting in!
Tbh the smell gives me a tiny bit of anxiety because I’m always hoping that a fire doesn’t break out lol
And then you have some ridiculous retailers that don’t allow you to hold a package for pickup anymore. What the hell happened to that? I feel like it used to be when I had a package that needed a signature I could just request for it to be held at the parcel service center for me to pick it up later.
But the last two times I had a package with a signature required, it wouldn’t allow me to do that. The package was going to be returned to the sender for ridiculous reasons. One was an age restricted item which I can kind of get, but the other wasn’t. Both times I had to beg and plead with the delivery company to hold the parcel even though it was not something they were supposed to do.
And people wonder why Amazon gets so much business. They don’t make me take days off from work so I can hopefully receive a fucking package of the delivery person actually feels like ringing my doorbell.
Never again with packages requiring a signature for me. I don’t work from home and my workplace is not in a location that can receive packages.
Jeez dude I hope your hand is still functional ok
I feel like I’ve heard that before. Something about it being concerning if the pain suddenly stops because it indicates that it ruptured. I’m not a doctor though, just something I heard so it might not be accurate.
How did you get your fingers chopped off??
I had some sort of bad migraine episode where I couldn’t stop puking. Every time I threw up, the force of doing so would cause a wave of pain that was like someone hit me in the head with a baseball bat.
I didn’t realize that I had turned it on on my prior phone. Welp, my phone absolutely died one day and would no longer power on. I was really sad about losing my photos and videos, but then when I got my new phone I was happy to find out that at some point I turned on photos cloud backups.
Yeah, I’m with you on that. Everyone on Lemmy loves password managers, but I don’t really like the idea of entrusting all of my passwords for everything with one singular program. I actually also dislike 2 factor authentication. One time my phone broke and my bank wanted to verify my identity to purchase a new phone. Except my phone was broken so I couldn’t… Yeah I really don’t want to run into that scenario again except worse.
I’ve actually gone old school with it and I keep most passwords physically written down in a notebook using my own cypher language/pictograms. If someone irl really wants to break into my home, find the notebook, and try to decode it, I’d be in bigger trouble to begin with. It’s very unlikely.
I had some people install a new water heater at my place. They turned off what was labeled as the water heater at the breaker and proceeded to change out the heater.
I noticed later that it seemed odd that the AC hadn’t cycled on all day. Eventually realized the circuit breaker was mislabeled.
The guys doing the water heater replacement were working on a live line and I guess they didn’t bother to check with a multimeter. Jesus. They didn’t get hurt/killed thankfully.
I’m stupid. Can you explain the issue in the thing you circled?
