I recently switched from my ISP’s combo device to a GL-inet Flint 2 (https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-mt6000/);;) no complaints with it thus far, and I’ve enjoyed some of the quality of life features it’s got built into it.

Fedora Server, with most of the services I need running via Docker.

I really hope they fix the issue with the picture-in-picture video not staying over top of all other windows; that’s the only thing keeping me from using Wayland Firefox right now.
First Android phone was a Motorola Moto G4. Solid phone, great budget buy at the time. Replaced it with a refurbished Galaxy S9 in 202, which is actually still serving me to this day. My S9 is showing its age now, but I’m refusing to buy a phone that does not have a headphone jack, so I’m going to run it into the ground.
First Android device was actually a Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet (16GB storage, 1GB of RAM). Ended up running Jellybean, and finally KitKat, off of a microSD card to keep it going. Actually still have it, but flashed to Android 7. Gapps doesn’t install, but I’m impressed it was able to run as well as it did.
Snagged a 6800 XT for $510 USD a few months back. It’s a beast of a card, and I’m very content to enjoy the performance I’ve got for quite a while to come. Unfortunately AMD doesn’t bring their cool features to Linux right away, so I’ll have to wait a while for stuff like Fluid Motion Frames (if it ever ends up coming to Linux at all).
TLJ higher than the prequels is a bold statement. That was the movie that convinced me that new Star Wars was dead on arrival.
ROTS being so low actually surprises me a bit; what’s your reasoning for that? If you haven’t checked it out, I strongly recommend the novelization of ROTS, it’s one of the best Star Wars novels I’ve ever read.
Sweet, just got my invite! Curious to see if this means they’ve also expanded the limited test to include Linux, since my main desktop is running Manjaro.
I’m in the same boat; longtime MusicBee user on Windows, and it’s one of the few things I haven’t found a “good enough” replacement for on Linux.
Hmm…not sure how I feel about the change, but then again, it doesn’t really matter since I don’t have beta access anyway :P
I suppose it comes down to the definition of “cheat”; as I recall, the consensus was that it was an unfair advantage because it made use of a one-way texture that allowed the CT’s to see the T’s, but not vice versa (let me know if I’m wrong on this, it’s been a while). Granted, it’s using stuff within the game, but is kind of not in keeping with the spirit of a pro match.
Very important message; this gambling stuff is a cancer on the game, and it negatively affects all of us.
I discovered the same thing; fortunately the game crash that was caused by having the overlay enabled seems to have been fixed, so enabling the Steam overlay seems to be the best recommendation to make now. Thanks for the suggestion!
Late to the party, but I thought I’d update with some more info for anyone stumbling across this in the future. @MrHandyMan was at least partially correct in the assessment of the issue. In that thread, the launch option LD_PRELOAD="" %command%
is recommended to alleviate the problem. In my experience, this was not particularly helpful, and actually prevented the game from launching sometimes.
However, based on discussion on the Github issue thread, it seems that the issue was (either wholly or in part) caused by me having the Steam overlay disabled for CS, which I had done in order to fix an unrelated crash that seems to have been fixed. Enabling the Steam overlay fixed the problem, and my game seems to be running as intended now.
For some perspective:
(Granted, this is not a perfect apples-to-apples comparison, as the fossil fuel numbers are for 2016-2021, not 2017-2020, but regardless…)
Looking forward to seeing if this trend will continue with other game platforms; I know the r/GlobalOffensive subreddit spun up the @cs magazine on Kbin a while back, and I’m sure there’s some others that are doing the same.
Thanks for looking into it on your end; I’ll see if I can track down any more info as to what might be causing it on my system, then.
I’m admittedly not much of a networking expert, but you might be able to improve your existing network by running Ethernet backhaul for your mesh network (assuming your access points support it).
Regarding whether you would benefit from a router like that: I’ve only got a 25Mbps connection, so my main use case for it is using ZeroTier to access various services on my local network, more advanced firewall controls, and the dual 2.5G Ethernet ports for connection between my main PC and home server.
