Teams will stop their major upgrades for this season soon though. It gets to a point where its just fine tuning and minor upgraded parts that change where you are relative to other teams. If they really are in the mix then they shouldn’t fall away as the Aston seems to have.
Don’t care about the name. Just want the 2004 yellow and blue back.
Started watching The Diplomat on Netflix. I’m 4 episodes in and it’s ok but why is everyone so useless other than the Americans?
It’s quite off-putting.
Why would Norris go from being team leader to Marko’s punching bag?
To win races and compete at the front of the grid. Being a team leader of an average and inconsistent McLaren team is unlikely to win him anything beyond a few odd podium trophies per season.
Not next year, no.
If he gets a new contract and has a good 2024 (comfortably beats the competition etc.) then he might have a shot for 2025.
I’m my defence there were a lot of people questioning what was happening and no answers.
If you had login issues that’s fine. Shit happens.
Perhaps the more likely strategy that will be targeted is a one-stop, because the expected difference in terms of race time is only a few seconds in total, so teams tend to lean towards fewer stops and prioritising track position.
Perez was sitting stationary for around 8mins (you could argue 10min+ given he didn’t box after the red flag). Sargeant for around 7 minutes. I don’t think either had any tyre temp and yet Sargeat got out of q1.
Perez was suggesting yesterday that it’s the conditions which he doesn’t like. 4 of the last 5 quali’s have been wet I think.
I’m still unconvinced by him tbh. He has clearly improved a lot but I’m not sure he’s good enough for Red Bull. If he keeps improving then he might get a chance at some point though.
If I had to guess I’d say:
2024: Verstappen and Perez 2025: Verstappen and Tsunoda/Ricciardo/Lawson 2026: Verstappen and Norris (long term)
Not a great sign for Tsunoda either.
It had to be. There was almost nothing left in the car. I get the feeling the FIA wil be testing the car frequently for underfueling now. Looks a bit dodgy for Alfa
If there’s post race penalties, crashes, important overtakes etc. its inevitable that spoilers will be posted with news/videos.
When I can’t watch a race live and plan on watching it later I avoid places that discuss formula 1.
Edit: Not to forget, we don’t have a mod to enforce any rules at the minute.
They’ve just messaged me. It’s not them.
Presumably the mod has had enough messages and mentions over the past few days that they now know people want more active mods.
Would you consider adding a mod or two so someone else can pin threads when you’re not here?
I feel like it would help the community grow a lot if there were multiple mods.
Thanks
There’s no reason to keep him after the summer break. It just feels inevitable now.
de Vries a mile behind in 19th. If Magnussen was able to take a lap at the end there he would have been 0.4 behind every other driver.
What’s the biggest points distance a driver has ever won the championship by?
I think its going to be broken in 2023.
Unbelievable. Just nowhere in quali
They look kind of where I expect them to be tbh. Look decent in the slower corners of sector 1 but then fall away a bit after that.
One of the biggest issues with the sprints is that many of the potential good formats are automatically off the table. We won’t get something fun like reverse grids anytime soon.
At the moment it’s all fairly new and constantly changing but at the end of the day it’s nothing unique. It’s just a shorter race.
