  • I love Les Stroud but I hate how he latched onto that hoaxer whackjob Todd Standing, the guy who comes out with high quality videos of sasquatch faces in tree branches. They’re not moving, it’s not full-body, it’s just their face, and they’re not doing anything besides blinking. He’s got two videos like that of just a face in the trees, and then several more where he claims the sasquatches are attacking him, but they’re “just out of camera view”, where he’s freaking out and waving a torch around, screaming like an idiot.

I just feel like Les could do a lot better. He’s got some compelling footage of weird stuff happening at his solo campsites, and I fully believe his story of what happened when he was filming the Survivorman Alaska episode. Les is legit, he has no reason to make shit up, but Todd Standing is an absolute fraud.

  • I’m so glad someone else mentioned Wild at Heart, that is without a doubt my favourite Cage movie of all time. He’s in vintage form in that film. It’s so funny too, like legitimately funny. Kind of like that one he did with Elijah Wood, The Trust. He was fucking hilarious in that movie, it felt like a return to vintage form, he got creative with it. A lot of people hated it, I guess because of the abrubt ending, but if you focus on Nic’s performance it’s a truly great movie. I’d call that a “hidden gem” for sure. More people need to give it a chance, it really is a great film

  • well, there’s a lot wrong with me. but the only reason I use chrome is because when my last windows machine took a shit, I couldn’t afford a new PC so I grabbed a chromebook for $130CAD and I was seriously impressed with how easy and fast it was to use. that was 4 years ago, and now I’m just waiting for google’s hammer to drop so I can switch back to windows.

a chromebook isn’t without its charms, there are features that just make sense to me that are non-existent on windows: for example, you can increase the size of everything on your screen with two fingers on your touchpad. expand to make larger, pinch to shrink it down. seems like a no-brainer for any OS, but windows lacks this feature. and when you’re old af and your eyesight is for shit, this is an extremely useful tool to have available.

but if I can’t block ads then it’s meaningless. there are no redeeming features that could ever outweigh adblock capabilities. once that happens, I’m gone and I’ll never go back to chrome. they can go fuck themselves to death if they’re gonna take away UO
