A tweet by Ivanka Trump @ivankatrump saying “I cannot believe that Theodore is eight months old today! Happy birthday little teddy bear!” with an admittedly cute picture of a child smiling. It has a reply from @blacknmild saying “this isn’t how birthdays work”
It’s kind of normal for families to celebrate month-birthdays of babies.
Look, I know you’ve been given enough downvotes so I won’t add to them but this is just not true.
I have what most people would consider a metric fuck tonne of kids and I love the ever loving shit out of every one of them but never once have we celebrated their 8th month of existence.
None of my friends or family have ever done anything so utterly weird either.
It’s just weird. So weird that I question the validity of the original post.
Its not a birthday if its not the day you were born. I can see celebrating it though.
I have never said “happy birthday” outside of a proper year change. Marking the months isn’t the same.
Yeah but I didn’t call my don’t 8 months his “birthday” for exactly this reason
1 month old, 6 months old, 3 or 9 months old, maybe… but eight? nah, mate. that ain’t a thing.
take your every-month picture for the scrapbook. but ‘celebrate’ or party or to whore-out on social for fake likes? nope.
Yeah, we took photos of the kids in the same chair each month in the first year. It wasn’t like we had parties, but this is normal new baby stuff. Plenty of legitimate reasons to hate the Trumps. Dogpiling on them for shit like this is petty and reinforces the right-wing narrative that the attacks are personal.
I also feel the need to add that it doesn’t matter whether or not you fuel the right wing attacks. They have a persecution complex. They make shit up if they have to. Nothing made them angrier than the fact that the Obamas were a happy family, so what did they do? They attacked his wife and kids relentlessly anyway. Then they turn around and say “the radical left” are so mean.
It’s not about truth. It’s about fueling the fire and serving red meat 24/7. They will do it with or without your help.
That’s true regardless, but when they say “Look how absurd the left is being,” it’s better when they don’t have examples like this to point at.
The Internet is a big place. They will always find an extreme example for whatever they want, and if they can’t find one, some right wing grifter will make one up for them. I understand the concept of taking the highroad and all of that, and I generally do, but it is not her kid’s birthday and it is not some huge political step to go “that is not how birthdays work.” You’re acting like he called her a dumb c***.
Did you ever say “happy birthday” to them on those months? Because I sure didn’t. That would be very weird. She did that because she’s weird. It’s literally not her kid’s birthday.
This also wasn’t some text to the family group chat. This was whoring out her infant son to the world on social media to look human for a second while she and her family work to dismantle a country.
I feel bad for Theodore, honestly. I get what you’re saying, we shouldn’t knock them just for doing every day things. But this was unusual and frankly I have no more sympathy for anyone with the last name Trump who isn’t a child during all of this
I honestly don’t remember, but it’s entirely possible we said “Happy 8 month birthday!” I didn’t tweet about it, but I didn’t tweet at all.
Otherwise, I agree with you completely, I just think when we’re sending American children to death camps, the first (third?) family’s social media habits aren’t on the list of hills to die upon.
I got plenty of personal attacks for them.
If I speak up too loudly my wife and son have to flee the country.
How’s that? Have I earned it? DO YOU MFERS HEAR ME
That’s a valid reason to attack them. Like, physically. Not that I’m suggesting or condoning violence, but they are coming for our freedom. They aren’t doing it in tweets of baby pictures.
The attacks are personal, the whole family are evil fucking Nazis.
Yes, which is a good reason to hate them. Posting baby pictures is not a good reason to hate them.
Sure but we don’t hate the Nazis because they played card games.
That’s stupid and makes no sense.
I celebrate every occasion that the child’s age doubles, starting from the first second.
I celebrate every prime number.
I’ll allow it.
Curiosity triggered. Ignoring leap years because it only changes the days a little at the end:
Day doublings (8):
⬆️ 27 celebrations in first year of life | up to 7 celebrations past first year ⬇️
See? Much more sensible. You get loads of front-loaded precious moments, and then some very relevant milestones later on in life, only requiring about one third of the overall celebrations!
Found the programmer.
To be fair, I wasn’t trying to hide.
