Thanks for the insights. Normally I’m 100% good with releasing it when it’s ready as well as not giving a date ahead of time. But I’m about the head out of the country for a week or so, and needed to know whether to bring my Steam Deck =). It sounds like it still has a ways to go, and I’ll be back before it’s release.
I haven’t played locally on a steam deck, but I have played via a dedicated server. Overall it runs better than I expected. Using a controller is… Interesting after 5 years of keyboard and mouse, but I can see that you’d get the hang of it.
I’d say try it out BUT, moving to experimental is a one way road. Once you migrate your save to 1.1 you can’t load it again in 1.0. so be sure
I can just wait.
I tried it out on Steam Deck using a community profile (1.0), and gave up pretty quickly. The game is just too complex to hack controller support on top of it, so I am hopeful for the official support. I’d only even consider it when traveling, and otherwise I’d just use a PC.

The official support is decent, surprisingly better than I expected. Just… different.
