I would feel more confident in this film if it were animated. After decades of bad Zelda cosplay fan films, I find it very difficult to imagine a live action Zelda film not looking completely ridiculous.
will there be a 2027?
For Japan? Sure.
I mean, if war kicks off, we’re full of US bases and still get a lot of petrochem from Russia, so I’m not so sure. Island nation without a ton of resources and all that.
Why though. It’s perfect as a video game. That’s its medium. It doesn’t need a movie.
Does anyone else have the superpower to know for a fact that this will 100% miss the point and suck, or is it just me? Ama.
Dolla dolla bill
Does anyone else wonder if the next game and this movie might have similarities in art direction? It’s odd to me that Nintendo would decide to do live action after the success of the colorful Botw and TotK art direction.
I know it’s just likely copium for a spiritual successor to Twilight Princess.
I’m hoping the details of the movie are divorced from any one game, and instead just uses the broad strokes of Zelda story conventions. I would much rather they stand on their own so they can utilize the respective mediums to their fullest.
I’m not against Twilight Princess being a big influence though…
They could always say the Zelda film exists in a separate timeline that exists because of time travel shenanigans, i.e. the MCU approach
I’m pretty sure this is the only way to make a good video game movie.
I agree. It’s not a formula for guaranteed success though. See Super Mario Bros. for one example
