    Dianne Feinstein is the more egregious example.

    What happens is is that these congressman build a circle of aids who handle all the real work while they campaign. Those aids develop working relationships with other aids. The more senior, the more influence they have. It quickly gets to the point when the politician themselves are just a figurehead and the aids don’t want to start over with a new one, so they just wheel their host around.

    Trump is well into the category where he’s just being lead around by his handlers.

      I don’t think he’s there yet, he still seems to know what’s going on around him, and where he is at.

        I don’t believe he is. I know people like that. They fake understanding what’s going on, but can’t maintain a thought for very long. During Trump’s first term, his aids figured out that they would need to be the last person to talk to him because he quickly forgot the previous discussion.
