Perez had the most miserable weekend, bad quali, bad race start, bad race performance, driving with a damaged car, with not even taking the final point for fastest lap to top it off, all in his home race.
And seemed to take it out on some people on track. Although this particular rivalry seemed to be both ways the way they were fighting.
bad race start,
“No, it was a great start”.
I still can’t get over that one, that was almost Russell-esque response.
Perez shouldn’t be fighting Lawson that’s like Russell losing out to Stroll.
Perez appeared to think the baby team car should move over and let him pass, Lawson wants his seat and wouldn’t give an inch. I loved Perez, but it seems the Red Bull car is just not a car that suits him, or he can’t handle having a teammate who is so far beyond him. I don’t see him in F1 next year unfortunately but I don’t think he deserves the main team seat anymore and there’s no where else to go really.
Yeah, good on Lawson tbh, but Pérez does that to every backmarker. He routinely makes contact or pushes people off with his sloppy overtake attempts. Japan 23 was a prime example. In Baku when he was in Carlos’ DRS I thought to myself: “He’s gonna punt Sainz off the track, isn’t he?”, and two corners later they were both in the wall.
I may be a bit biased as I’m a New Zealander, but Perez seemed extra sensitive on the radio and the post race interviews around Liam.
It’s the guy who will be in his seat most likely, so i can understand Perez is a bit antsy. But for Lawson to be flipping the bird after 1 race to a seasoned driver is pretty disrespectful, but nevertheless it is pretty hilarious.
Hopefully Liam doesn’t go too all in on those types of antics. But he does seem to be pretty exciting so far
No love lost between these two, haha!

womder what the steward’s verdict on it is.
They didn’t swear, so technically it is legal.
Now we wait for the “No flipping each other off while racing” rule to be introduced.
He was just pointing up to the planes
