Former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have apparently communicated several times since Trump left office in 2021, according to Bob Woodward. CNN obtained an advance copy of Woodward's revealing new book War, which went behind the scenes of President Joe Biden's administration and touched on Trump's time in office as both navigated
They had multiple meetings when he was in office, some with only the Russian translator present (highly unorthodox to deprive the US state of their translator).
In one meeting outside of those, a US translator was present and took notes as is custom. President Trump ordered the US translator to destroy their notes.
During Trump’s time in office it is believed Putin acquired a list of the identities and positions of multiple undercover agents, resulting in some of them being killed, and many having to be recalled.
