  • I noticed this when a correction was made to some blocks not being stored and implemented correctly. (A previous report of mine, actually.)

The problem you describe is double-edged. I personally want to block something immediately and scrub it completely from my existing feed. The refresh is welcomed in my case as there might be multiple posts from the same community or user.

This probably requires a feed refresh for multiple reasons. The first I can think of is for performance and the second reason is likely for code complexity and CPU cycle reduction.

I would vote to add a menu opinion to purge and refresh the feed after a block since I can see the advantages and disadvantages to both settings.

  • My average intake on a slow evening was a 9 or 15 pack of Coors pint cans, so 144oz or 240oz.

These days, I stick to water. However, you probably have never seen someone who can consume as much as I can, casually. I’ll drink two pints of water at the refrigerator when I go for a glass, then fill that again and go back to doing whatever I was doing. (I won a ton of beer drinking bets. A pint of whatever is easily drank at between 3 and 5 seconds. My ability to consume any beverages is basically superhuman and likely a contributing factor to my brush with alcholisim.)

  • I am on 1.0.200, but not sure if on a beta release. (Version numbers don’t always change.) If there is a new release, I am usually on top of it fairly quick. ;)

Clicking a comment in my profile should show from the top level comment down to my reply. It’s super handy to see the full context of a conversation, especially since I have multiple conversations going at any given time.

Edit: Ach! It’s doing the same to the comments I follow through my inbox now. (But yeah, double checked and there is no update available for me.)

Edit2: The same behavior happens after an edit. When I click save on this comment, the next screen is only my comment, not yours too.

  • You buy a couple full cases of beer at a time, for starters. 72 (or more) beers might last a few days.

Keystone is basically just a water-beer and chain drinking those is fairly easy since cheap lager is shit once it gets warm. There is motivation to drink, is what I am saying.

But yeah, his numbers are about average for most “serious” beer drinkers I know. TBH, I am surprised that you are surprised. However, I didn’t grow up in a very healthy environment and norms are just a matter of perception.

  • If you drink long enough and hard enough, hangovers aren’t a thing. It’s not that hangovers go away, it’s that they become a normal part of life and your body will eventually just tune it out.

At the end of my drinking career, I could black out multiple times a week and still be “normal” the next morning and didn’t care or even notice if I was hungover or not.

For me, hangovers kinda morphed into something else entirely: dependency. That plays a huge part in muting anything that a normal person would feel, I am fairly sure.

But no, I don’t drink anymore and haven’t for a few years now. If I do ever drink again, hangovers absolutely won’t be a thing because I’ll likely be dead in a couple of days anyway.

Photons are the smallest unit of energy that can be transferred between a light wave and a different particle.

That is a much better description than what I have heard for the last 30 years: “A photon is a packet of energy”. That made no sense to me back then, and makes no sense to me now and, IMHO, doesn’t quite give a good visualization. It’s a placeholder, and I suppose it is slightly accurate depending on how “packet” is defined.
