    sigh. at no point does the article explain what Jai Shri Ram means. If I looked it up right it means glory to lord rama. I remember way back when I thought hinduism was a rather chill religion. On the other hand we know how islam can be and christianity as well. No gods, no masters folks. Hail yourselves and your loved ones.

      Originally, it is a Hindu chant praising one of Hinduism’s Gods. Violent Hindu supremacists have turned this into a call for violence, it is now a much feared war cry… Much like ‘Allahu Akbar’ which means ‘Allah is great’ was turned by Islamic terrorists into their war cry.

      ps : The article is geared towards an indian audience, and every Indian is aware how the praise to a favoured god has been turned into a terrorist chant. There are too many incidents of Hindu supremacists forcing non-Hindus (mostly Muslims) to chant JSR and then lynch them to death. The political party that is currently in power, the BJP , is Hindu supremacist and they provide state protection to such violent actors.
